david field portrait-small

David Oien. Co-founder, CEO & General Manager. David is a third-generation Montana farmer whose Norwegian grandparents homesteaded in the early 1900’s a few miles south of the current farm near Conrad . Influenced by a childhood of riding tractors with his dad and watching the clouds float across the big sky, plus a college degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies focusing on Oriental, Native American, and Judeo-Christian religion, in 1976 he returned to the family farm in his own personal "back-to-the land movement”. Building a passive solar house, rehabbing a 30’s-era wind generator, and converting the farm to organic was the work of the 70’s; promoting renewable energy and co-founding Timeless was the obsession of the 80’s; and nurturing the business through its formative years was the passion of the 90’s. David has been an avid supporter of renewable energy and sustainable agriculture for 30 years, a founding member of the Pondera Solar Alliance, AERO’s Sustainable Agriculture Task Force, two local organic farmers' chapters, Montana Organic Certification Advisory Committee, and the Montana Organic Association. David received the 1989 Sustainable Agriculture Award from th e Alternative Energy Resources Organization, and the 2008 Lifetime Service Award from the Montana Organic Association.

Timeless got its start on David's farm in 1987, and every since he has "ridden herd" on Timeless, filling the roles of general manager, product and market development, sales, grain purchasing, and on-call grunt labor. David lives and eats on the organically-certified family farm near Conrad. He spends as much time as schedule and weather allow on his bicycles, which he considers the epitome of appropriate technology--the elegant convergence of man, machine, and motion.

She operates from a desk, computer, and phone at the main office in Conrad. For fun she spends her time operating her internet used book business, through which she markets hard-to-find andunusual non-fiction books around the world.

liz160 Elizabeth Kestler. Liz is our office staff, and the sweet voice you're likely to hear when you call. She's in charge of just about everything that involves paper, data entry, fielding customer questions and requests.

Both her parents are local ministers, and Liz graduated from Conrad High School in 2004. She attended Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, pursuing a bachelor's degree in mathematics. She loves spending time with her young Samoyed, Sophie, and since she has no siblings, she also enjoys the time with her parents while she's home with them.

Liz spends much of her spare time on her computer, whether chatting with friends who are miles away, browsing the Internet for whichever topic she's currently interested in, or playing video games. She also spends time reading, writing, doing sudoku, and watching concerts or movies with her parents or with a friend online. When presented with social opportunities, she likes to engage in friendly competition with some Mario Kart or Super Smash Brothers, go to live concerts, go swimming, or just generally enjoy the company of others. She enjoys places with lots of people, and she hopes to eventually live somewhere larger near one of her close friends.

leni mckensey smallLeni Yeager. Retail Packaging Production Manager, Safety Officer. In-house Biblical Scholar. One quarter Blackfeet Indian, and raised in the state's Kootenai Forest near the Canadian border, Leni is literally a native Montana girl. She came to Timeless in 2008 after managing the packaging line at Quality Life Concepts, the local service provider for developmentally disabled adults who package our retail line. Although she yearns to bea railroad engineer, Leni is as comfortable running our forklifts and stacking pallets as she is organizing paperwork or "talking lentils" to local customers. She oversees the packaging of our award winning Timeless Natural Food retail line. But, above all, she's most remembered by visitorsfor her pink hardhat.

Leni experiences life as a moving stream and loves to spend spare time on the banks of the mighty Missouri River, which flows within mile of the Timeless warehouse.

loren-smallLoren Nichols. Production and grain handling. Loren is a local boy, born and raised just down the road from our current warehouse and production facility in Ulm. Loren must have food production in his veins because while he was growing up, he spent many hours along side his dad, who worked for a small, local flour mill. And before joining the Timeless crew, he was a production worker on the Pasta Montana packing line in nearby Great Falls, Montana.

When he's not cheering up the Timeless crew with his big smile and positive attitude, he's living his goal of "just enjoying life" with his dog Tuffy--walking or fishing along the Missosuri River.
