molly.jpgMolly. CED (Chief Executive Dog). Molly was a pound-rescue lab cross, whose name should have been “Shadow”. She was in charge of Dave, and his constant companion. Whether in the office, in the car, running errands, it was her job to monitor Dave’s every move. Molly was also in charge of rest and relaxation, and crumb control during breaks.

Unfortunately Molly died unexpectedly in late 2007, but she remains CED in our memory and hearts.

David & Mao.jpg

David Oien. CEO & General Manager. David is a third-generation Montana farmer whose Norwegian grandparents homesteaded in the early 1900’s a few miles south of the current farm near Conrad . Influenced by a childhood of riding tractors with his dad and watching the clouds float across the big sky, plus a college degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies focusing on Oriental, Native American, and Judeo-Christian religion, in 1976 he returned to the family farm in his own personal "back-to-the land movement”. Building a passive solar house, rehabbing a 30’s-era wind generator, and converting the farm to organic was the work of the 70’s; promoting renewable energy and co-founding Timeless was the obsession of the 80’s; and nurturing the business through its formative years was the passion of the 90’s. David has been an avid supporter of renewable energy and sustainable agriculture for 30 years, a founding member of the Pondera Solar Alliance, AERO’s Sustainable Agriculture Task Force, two local organic farmers' chapters, Montana Organic Certification Advisory Committee, and the Montana Organic Association.

Dave oversees Timeless, filling the roles of general manager, grunt labor, product and market development, Montana and overseas sales, and grain purchasing. David –or his clone-is found variously in the office in Conrad, at the production facility in Ulm, or somewhere else on the planet.

Sharon.jpgSharon Eisenberg. Financial Officer. Sharon grew up in upstate New York, graduated from the University of Chicago, and served a stint in VISTA developing senior citizen programs in Walthill, Nebraska. She earned her CPA certificate, and following assignments with the IRS and a Big 10 accounting firm, in 1980 moved to Montana where she married David. They’ve raised three smart and caring children who are pursuing their own dreams. She’s also “mother” to three dogs rescued from various unsavory fates and a dozen or more cats, all of whom are also pursuing dreams their own-- more to eat and a warm lap. For over 20 years Sharon has been the organizer of various incarnations of local organic food buying clubs.

Sharon is the financial guru for Timeless, as well as office manager, the accounts payable and receivable person, and the one who deals with the mountains of paperwork having to do with being a small company in the organic food business. She operates from a desk, computer, and phone at the main office in Conrad.

Ginger.jpgGinger. DOO (Dog of Operation). Ginger is a Kelpie cross, born to bark and run in circles. She’s in charge of facilities security, announcing arrivals and departures, grounds inspection, gopher patrol, table scrap recycling, and supervising Eric.

Eric Germann. Timeless Operations Manager. Eric is a farm kid who grew up in northern Indiana's Amish Country before buying his own spread near Fairfield, Montana. A divorce broke up the farm, but not the farmer. Eric worked for & managed a number of farms in Northcentral Montana, until 2006, when he signed on with Timeless. Eric is “hardwired” for things mechanical and addicted to tools, plus he’s wealth of knowledge on a wide variety of subjects & a dedicated alternative energy advocate. He’s currently completing an off-the-grid, space- and energy-efficient house for himself and his faithful canine companion Ginger.

lewis.jpgLewis Dahl. National Sales Manager. Lewis grew up in Conrad, Montana (population 2600). After working in his father’s machine shop, he created Daystar, one of Montana’s first renewable energy businesses, and became known across the state as the “solar guy” who would bend your ear for hours about renewables, conservation, and the importance of protecting the environment. Lewis was an avid member of the Alternative Energy Resources Organization, a founder of the Pondera Solar Alliance, and designer and builder of dozens of solar collectors. In the 80’s, his pride and joy was the Little Mother Alcohol Fuel Still, a junk yard marvel that brewed enough ethanol fuel to experiment operating his Gold Wing motorcycle as well as a lawn mower or two and David’s 1940 Dodge pickup, Still Runnin’. Since Lewis was 20 years ahead of his time, in 1987 he moved to the Pacific Northwest in search of a “real job” and worked for 25 years in sales and sales management. Lewis came full circle in 2006, becoming Sales Manager for Timeless. Lewis describes his this decision as returning to his roots. "Timeless allows me to be with great people and represent fantastic products. This is the best gig I've ever had!”

Jacob Cowgill was born and raised in central Montana within view of the Highwoods, Big Belts, Little Belts, and the Rocky Mountain Front. After high school he headed off to the big city to find his path in life. He took some detours, but finally settled on a fine art degree from the University of Montana.

This took him out of state but he found he missed the big sky, rolling hills, and mountains too much, so he moved back home to Montana where he went back to school for his master's degree in Environmental Studies. He finishes in May 2007, at which point he will continue to look for that path in life.

Jacob is currently working on a sustainability strategy for Timeless. The strategy will identify how Timeless can reduce its environmental impact and give back to the earth, people, and communities by using renewable energy like solar and wind power, resource conservation, recycling, and carbon sequestration among many other approaches.
